Kecap Tuyul is a self-taught improviser and sound artist, using various (and preferably unstable) tools, looking for ways of playing and interacting (with sounds, with other media, with other people) that question the traditional ideas of instrumental mastership, composition, human relationships and social roles in the so-called arts/music fields.
For a long time, most of his sound experiments have been made alone and privately under various partially undisclosed pseudonyms, but since the end of the 2000’s and the choice of the "Kecap Tuyul" name he started
working with some other people, mostly in duo, and rarely on a long term. Some of his latest collaborations like
Onde Poussière (with
Doedelzak since 2015) and
M.A.K.T. Sono (with
Magali Albespy since 2018) contributed to his progressive shift towards more conceptual works and performances, for instance in solo under the
Failure Circle moniker.
He created the
eg0cide productions netlabel in 2007, and co-founded the
XtetX Collective in 2015, initially a free improvisation collective whose shows have become a series of more progressive and diversified events in Paris, . Under the eg0cide S.A. moniker, he curates a conceptual project called
"the perfect failure (?)" since 2011.
